The inning counter can be used to record the number of runs

Know the rules, read the Supplement, know game time (start and duration) and when open inning begins. Be at the field no later than 15 minutes before the start time and let the coaches know you are there. Before the game find the score keeper and give them the start time and let them know that you will be checking with them on number of runs each inning (there is a run limit).

Have a pre-game meeting with the Head Coaches, tell them
- Only Head Coaches may talk to the Umpire
- Do not argue judgement calls
- Always have your catcher ready

Take your position, near the plate, in foul territory, across the batter. Call out strikes (after the third pitch, before the forth pitch, call out " X strikes, three pitches left".....X strikes, "two pitches left", ..... then X strikes,"Last pitch" - anything but a hit fair ball is an out).

When the ball is hit, you must Hustle to the foul line to see if it is a fair ball (only call "foul ball" with both hands up and then point foul - or - just point fair (do not call "fair ball"). If the ball is fair, Hustle to the best position to see any and all possible plays (stay out of the throwing lanes). You must try to watch the kids touch the bases, until you have an infield play to watch.

Be LOUD - Sell your call. At the point the forward motion of the runner(s) stops, call "Time", loud, with your hand raised.
